Men's Cross Country Grab Second at Highlander Invitational

HOUGHTON, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year Riley Grossman finished third out of 140 runners to lead the Knights to second place out of 11 teams at the Highlander Invitational, hosted by Houghton, Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Grossman finished the 8,000 meter race with a time of 27.24.3 to earn Geneseo's top placement.
  • Sophomore Matt Sayre crossed the finish line in fifth place with a time of 27.31.3.
  • Sophomore Matthew Blauvelt (27.33.1) and senior Lorenzo Mazzuca (27.9.8) finished back-to-back seventh and eighth, respectively.
  • The Knights put three additional runners in the top 14 for a second-place score of 34.
