Knights Sweep Away Competition at Oswego Invitational

OSWEGO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior Luke Holtzman finished first out of 67 runners as the Knights swept the top seven finishes to earn first place at the 28th Annual Oswego Invitational Saturday afternoon. 

HOW IT HAPPENED 

  • Holtzman covered the 6,000-meter course in a time of 18:54.9, edging teammates junior Justin Hoelzzl (19:01.2) and senior Sean Welch (19:01.5) who finished second and third, respectively.
  • Five more Knights crossed in fourth through eighth place, with first-year Cameron Davis (19:11.1), sophomore Matthew Viscosi (19:13.7), junior Kevin Seitz (19:16.4), first-year Riley Grossman (19:19.5) and first-year Ben Timmons (19:23.0) crossing the finish in that order.
  • Geneseo earned a perfect score of 15 points to out-distance runner-up host Oswego (56) with Hobart (92) and Onondaga CC (128) rounding out the field.
