Men Picked 2nd, Women 5th In Preseason Cross Country Polls

2017 USTFCCCA DIVISION III PRESEASON CROSS COUNTRY POLLS
MEN - WOMEN

GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's and women's cross country teams were both ranked in the top-five of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) preseason polls, released Wednesday.

The men were picked second following a 2016 campaign that culminated with a national runner-up showing at the NCAA Division III Championships for the Knights' highest finish ever at the meet. The Geneseo men will be in the hunt for their 15th-consecutive NCAA Championship appearance along with their seventh top-10 finish in the last 10 years.

The women enter the fall ranked fifth after logging a third-place effort at last year's NCAA Division III Championships. The Knights look to make their 24th overall NCAA Championship showing, including their 19th in a row, while a top-five finish would be the team's fourth-straight.

Both squads kick off the season on Friday (Sept. 1) night at the Brockport Invitational.
