GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Isaac Garcia-Cassani was named the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Runner of the Year, while first-year Sean McAneny landed Rookie of the Year honors and head coach Dan Moore was tabbed Coach of the Year.
Garcia-Cassani capped an outstanding season by finishing an All-America fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships, tying for the second-highest finish ever by a Geneseo runner. He also defended his titles at the SUNYAC Championships and the Atlantic Region Championships, finishing first in six of the seven races he competed in during the season.
McAneny was the top first-year finisher at the SUNYAC Championships, crossing 19th overall as the Knights won their third-consecutive conference title as well as its seventh in the last eight years. He was also one of the top first-year runners at the Atlantic Regional Championships, registering a 64th-place finish.
Moore garnered his second-consecutive SUNYAC Coach of the Year honor after also being named the top coach in the Atlantic Region for the first time. Moore guided the Knights to the No. 1 ranking in Division III during a season that also saw the squad win their second-consecutive NCAA Atlantic Regional before placing runner-up at the NCAA Division III Championships for the highest team finish in program history.
