Men's Cross Country Wins Purple Valley Classic

WILLIAMSTOWN, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Isaac Garcia-Cassani finished in first place to lead the Knights to the team championship at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams (Mass.), Saturday.

Geneseo totaled 48 points to out-distance runner-up Williams (64), MIT (89), Amherst (107) and RPI (112) to round out the top-five squads in the 22-team field.

Geneseo entered the meet ranked second nationally and first in the Atlantic Region. Williams was ranked third nationally, followed by MIT (No. 6), Amherst (No. 10) and RPI (No. 19). The field also included NYU (No. 25), Tufts (No. 28) and Dickinson (No. 32).
