Men's Cross Country Wins Cardinal Early Season Invite

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's cross country team traveled to St. John Fisher College to compete in the Cardinal Early Season Invitational, Friday, to open the 2016 season.

The Knights came away with the win with 37 points to edge out the runner-up RIT with 40.

First-year Lucas Sutton lead the team by crossing the finishing line in fifth place overall with a time of 20:18.

Followed closely behind was a pack of teammates consisting of junior Nike Termine in sixth place (20:23) and first years Stephen Loce (20:35) and Kevin Seitz (20:35) in seventh and eighth places, respectively.

Junior Kyle Chesterman rounded out the scoring five with his 11th place finish in a time of 20:44.

RIT's James Bailey was the individual winner with a time of 19:28 for the six-kilometer course.

The Knights will be in action on September 10th competing at the Oswego Invitational.
