Six Things You Need To Know About the 2018-19 Men's Track & Field Team

GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo men's track & field team kicks off the 2018-19 campaign this Friday and Saturday at the Brockport Alumni Invitational. Here are six things you need to know about the Knights heading into the season.

COMPLETE THE SET
The Knights will be in the hunt for third-consecutive State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Indoor Championships and second-straight Outdoor title after sweeping both titles last seasons for the first time since 2010. Geneseo also returns after claiming all six SUNYAC Championships (M/W cross country, M/W indoor track & field, M/W outdoor track & field) during the 2017-18 academic year. Geneseo is the only program to achieve the feat in the 51-year history of the conference, also completing the sweep in 2002-03 and 2005-06.

ON THE NATIONAL SCENE
Three quarters of last winter's national champion distance medley relay team return for another season. Seniors Luke Holtzman, Zachery Hannahoe and Gillan Faulkner followed up a runner-up finish in 2017 with a first-place effort last year (9:56.63), but will be in search of a replacement for four-time national champion and 12-time All-American Isaac Garcia-Cassani's anchor leg. Junior Jacob Converse also returns looking to improve upon last year's 12th-place effort in the heptathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships while senior Chris Walter (long jump) and Faulkner (800) will look for a return trip to the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
