Track & Field Runs At Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. - Members of the SUNY Geneseo men's and women's track & field teams traveled to Pennsylvania, Monday, for the Swarthmore Final Qualifier.

Senior Mackenzie Ross broke the Geneseo program record in finishing eighth in the 800, crossing the finish line with a 2:10.10 clocking that currently ranks third in Division III.

Senior Alexa Wandy won the triple jump competition with a mark of 12.79m (41'11.50") that improved on her Division III-leading mark. It was also the fourth-longest triple jump in Division III history.

On the men's side, junior Isaac Garcia-Cassani lowered his Division III-leading 1,500 time (3:42.66) in finishing fourth on the day.

Members of both teams will compete at the Oneonta Last Chance Qualifier this Wednesday-Thursday (May 17-18) in preparation for next week's NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships (May 25-27), hosted by Mount Union (Ohio).
