Knights Send 12 to NCAA Championships

GENESEO, N.Y. – A total of 12 SUNY Geneseo student-athletes will compete in the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving National Championships, from March 21-24, at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

Senior Samuel Randall qualified for his fourth-consecutive national championship meet, taking first in the one-meter dive (528.45) and second in the three-meter (528.90) in the NCAA Regional meet. He earned All-America honors last season and won the 2016 National Championship on the one-meter board.

Seniors Derek Secord and Jeff Doser teamed with first-years Will Eng and Harry Harkins to qualify in the 200 free relay. The quartet put up a 1:21.17 race in a time trial at the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships in late February to earn the invite. Doser and Secord return for their second NCAA Championship appearance after qualifying as part of the Knights' 200 free relay last year.

Junior Nancy Nasky returns to the NCAA Championships in the 1650 free after earning ninth place and Honorable Mention All-America in 2017. She earned her third SUNYAC crown in the 1,650, breaking her own conference record with a time of 17:03.45, to qualify for the national meet.

Seniors Kaitlin Doherty and Natalie LaCourt along with first-years Deidra Osula and Noelle Staso turned in a 1:35.14 time in the 200 free relay to qualify as well.

Sophomore Samantha Reichman and senior Emily Reiter both earned national meet berths with strong performances at the NCAA Regional Diving meet. Reichman took second in the one-meter (454.90) and sixth in the three-meter (460.70) while Reiter earned a qualifying spot with a seventh-place finish in the three-meter (428.25) and took ninth in the one-meter (397.85).
