ITHACA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior diver Emily Reiter finished seventh on the three-meter board, securing a qualification for the NCAA Division III Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. later this month. After qualifying yesterday with a second-place finish in the three-meter, senior Samuel Randall took first in the one-meter dive to cement his place among the top divers in the region.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Reiter punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships with a seventh-place finish in the three-meter, scoring 428.25 on 11 dives. First-year Alyssa Vadala scored 401.35 to finish in 11th and was named first alternate to represent the region at NCAAs. Sophomore Samantha Reichman finished sixth with a 460.70 while first-year Kiersten Coates took 12th (395.80).
Randall topped the men's one-meter competition with a score of 528.45. He will head to the NCAA Championships where the 2016 One-Meter National Champion will seek to reclaim the title.
Reichman, Reiter and Randall will join nine Geneseo swimmers at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. beginning on March 21.
