Men's Swimming & Diving Earns First Place Finish in Geneseo Invitational

BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior Samuel Randall, junior Clark Davis and sophomore Matt Mattera each won a pair of individual events as the Knights earned a first-place finish in the Geneseo Invitational at Erie Community College in Buffalo on Saturday afternoon.

Randall took down both diving events, placing first in the one-meter with a 536.40 and in the three-meter, scoring 556.05. Davis grabbed wins in the 100 breast (1:02.13) and the 200 back (2:00.63) while Mattera took crowns in the 200 free (1:48.13) and the 500 free (4:51.15). Geneseo took first place in nine of the 14 events to score 713 points, defeating Monroe Community College (525), Buffalo State (438), Nazareth (364) and Roberts Wesleyan (75).

The Knights will send several student-athletes to the Bomber Invitational, hosted by Ithaca College on Saturday, Feb. 10, and gear up for the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championships, beginning on Wednedsay, Feb. 21.
