Swimming & Diving Teams, Individuals Honored For Academics

GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo swimming & diving teams were two of 720 programs in the nation across Division I, II and III named Scholar All-America by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), announced Wednesday. 

The awards are in recognition for achieving a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2016 spring semester. 

The Knights' women compiled a 3.32 GPA last semester, while the men averaged a 3.24 GPA as Geneseo was one of 443 colleges and universities included on the list. 

Sophomore Nancy Nasky along with junior Jeff Doser, junior Samuel Randall, sopohomore Matthew Modelewski and first-year Matt Mattera also received CSCAA Scholar All-America individual honors. The award is granted to those who have achieved a GPA of 3.50 and earned a "B" time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.

The Geneseo women won their 25th overall and 10th-consecutive State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Championship last February, while the men picked up their fourth in a row and 20th in the last 22 seasons.
