GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving teams were both ranked in the top 25 of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) polls on Wednesday.
On the men's side, the Knights were ranked 20th in the nation while holding the No. 5 spot in the regional ranks. The ranking comes on the heels of a convincing first-place finish at the Geneseo Invitational on Saturday, January 27. The Knights recorded a total score of 653, earning wins in 14 events. The squad holds a 7-2 dual meet record and has finished in first at both the Geneseo Invitational and the Bomber Invitational earlier this season.
The women's team was ranked 21st in the CSCAA poll while earning the No. 3 ranking in the Northeast-South regional poll. The Knights earned a first-place finish at the Geneseo Invitational on Saturday tallying a total score of 601. Geneseo swimmers took first place finishes 13 events on the day on their way to the win. The Knights are 7-2 on the season in dual meets, including a 146-95 victory over No. 22 University of Rochester, and have placed first in both the Geneseo Invitational and the Bomber Invitational.
Both teams will participate in the Ithaca Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 11 before beginning competition at the SUNYAC Championships on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
