GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo seniors Brad Campion and Meaghan Johnston were named 2016 Academic All-District Soccer honorees, as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), announced Thursday.
The duo moves on to the national ballot where they will be considered for Academic All-America status. Last year, Campion became only the fifth CoSIDA Academic All-American in Geneseo history, landing third-team honors.
Campion is a history and adolescent education major with a 3.74 grade point average. A team captain for the last two seasons, he was voted a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Star the last two seasons as well as an All-East Region pick in 2014.
A childhood and special education major, Johnston has compiled a 3.54 grade point average. The 2014 SUNYAC Player of the Year and Third-Team All-American was voted a SUNYAC and All-East Region first-teamer as well. She started all 70 of the Knights' games over the last four years before suffering a season-ending knee injury earlier this month.
