Gunty's Four Goals Lead Men's Soccer Over Fredonia, 6-1

FREDONIA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior forward Ethan Gunty scored four goals, all in the first half, to lead the Knights to a 6-1 victory at Fredonia in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Saturday.

Sophomore back Greg Baumstein opened the scoring for Geneseo (4-3-1, 1-1 SUNYAC) in the fifth minute before Gunty started his run of four-consecutive tallies in the sixth minute. He then found the net in the 19th, 35th and 45th minutes to stake the visitors to a 5-0 lead at halftime.

Fredonia (6-3-1, 1-2 SUNYAC) got on the board in the 70th minute before Knights' first-year midfielder Dean Kousmanidis scored an unassisted tally in the 83rd minute to close the day.

First-year goalie Dillon Medd was credited with six saves to earn the victory. 

Geneseo will next be in action on Tuesday (Sept. 27) at Nazareth. The match is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.
