BUFFALO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore back Connor Ross scored his first goal of the season, but it was host Buffalo State scoring the game-winner with less than two seconds left in the first overtime period to take the 2-1 victory in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's soccer opener for both teams, Friday.

The Bengals (6-2-1, 1-0 SUNYAC)) got on the board in the 19th minute after Drew Braun scored on a header off a free kick.

Ross collected a pass from sophomore back Greg Baumstein on a loose ball during a free kick and evened the score in the 77th minute of play.

As the final seconds of the first overtime period ticked away, Buffalo State's Tristan Myers was able to get off a shot in a crowd from outside the left post and scored the deciding goal.

Geneseo (3-3-1, 0-1 SUNYAC) returns to SUNYAC action on Saturday, traveling to Fredonia for a 1:00 p.m. match.
