GENESEO, N.Y. - The SUNY Geneseo men's soccer team lost to visiting Clarkson, 1-0, on a goal scored in the 88th minute of play to suffer its first loss of the season.
Clarkson (3-1) senior forward Jon Jones headed a looping free kick from the left wing by first-year midfielder Erick Naula past Geneseo first-year keeper Dillon Medd from eight-yards away to break the scoreless tie.
The goal was the first allowed by the Knights after shutting out Rosemont (5-0) and Swarthmore (2-0) last week to open the season with a pair of wins.
Medd ended up with five saves as the Knights finished with an 11-7 advantage in shots.
Geneseo (2-1) returns to action on Saturday, hosting St. Lawrence in a 2:00 p.m. match at College Stadium.
