SCRANTON, Pa. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore attackman Zachary DeBottis tallied two goals and two assists while sophomore attackman Kyle Wanamaker added three goal to lead the Knights to a 8-4 victory at Scranton, Wednesday.

Geneseo improved to 6-3 on the season, marking the team's highest win total in five seasons.

Scranton (5-4) got on the board less than two minutes into the game but the Knights notched the next three to lead 3-1 early in the second quarter. Wanamaker cashed in a DeBottis feed with 5:58 on the clock before senior attackman Tim Wright used a DeBottis assist to score with seven second left in the first quarter.

DeBottis netted his first goal of the game at 13:21 of the second before the Royals answered seconds later to pull within one, 3-2. Talles by DeBottis at 5:28 and Wanamaker at 2:55 pushed the visitors' lead to three, 5-2, at halftime.

Scranton got on the board at 8:49 of the third quarter but it was senior Midfielder Michael Engstrom potting an unassisted goal with 50 seconds on the clock to give the Knights a 6-3 lead heading into the final period.

Back-to-back tallies by junior attackman Joshua Merkel at 13:11 and Wanamaker at 9:30 gave Geneseo a five-goal cushion with 9:30 left in regulation that proved insurmountable.

Junior goalie Michael Yehl was credited with 10 saves as the Knights have only allowed six goals in their previous two outings. Junior defenseman Ryan Cates picked up a game-high five ground balls.
