ROCHESTER, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo sophomore midfielder Joe Chiara totaled two goals and an assist but it was top-ranked RIT cruising to a 22-6 victory over the Knights, Wednesday afternoon.
The Tigers (10-0) took control of the game with a 6-1 lead after the first quarter before out-scoring Geneseo (2-5) 8-1 in the second quarter to lead 14-2 at halftime.
Chiara and junior attackman Andre Keating made it a 14-4 game with 11:55 on the third-quarter clock, but RIT would respond with a 6-2 run to finish the period with a 20-6 lead after 45 minutes of play. The Tigers would score a pair of unanswered goals in the final period to close out the win.
Geneseo returns to action on Saturday, taking on host Oneonta in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play set to face off at 2:30 p.m.
