CORTLAND, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior forward Arthur Gordon scored the game-tying goal with 7:19 left in the third period, but it was host Cortland scoring the game-winning goal 54 seconds into overtime to clinch a 4-3 victory in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's ice hockey action, Saturday.
The game was delayed nearly two hours due to ice surface issues with 21 seconds remaining in the second period,
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Geneseo got on the board after sophomore forward Conlan Keenan scored a short-handed goals with 5:35 left in the first period.
- Cortland evened the score less than a minute later as the teams closed the opening period tied, 1-1.
- The Red Dragons scored with 4:59 left in the second period and then grabbed a 3-1 lead 15 seconds into the third period.
- Geneseo junior forward Anthony Marra made it a 3-2 game with 12:58 left in regulation before Gordon later tied the game to force overtime.
Geneseo travels to Brockport next Friday (Dec. 8) for a 7:00 p.m. face-off for its last outing of the fall semester.
