As a semifinalist, Geneseo is guaranteed at least $25,000 in funds for arena upgrades from Kraft Heinz, with $75,000 also going to the runner-up.

The Ira is a 2,500 capacity rink that is home to the Geneseo men's ice hockey team and also to Geneseo Finger Lakes Youth Hockey, which uses more than 30 hours of ice time on a weekly basis.

Last year's winner was Marquette, Mich., and Lakeview Arena. The inaugural title in 2015 was won by Johnstown, Pa., and the Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

USA Hockey teamed up with Kraft Heinz on Kraft Hockeyville™ USA to help support and raise awareness for youth hockey across the country. All 50 states and the District of Columbia were represented among the individual rinks nominated.
