PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo first-year Conlan Keenan notched two goals, but it was host Plattsburgh riding a four-goal third period to a 5-2 victory in the semifinals of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Men's Ice Hockey Tournament, Saturday.

Plattsburgh got on the board first on a hard slap shot by Pat Egan as he was streaking down the left boards with 15:34 on the clock.

Geneseo answered less than five minutes later after Keenan collected a left-board cross from a falling-down first-year forward Andrew Romano and scored in the low slot inside the right post at 10:23.

The Knights scored the lone goal of the second period to carry a 2-1 lead into the third. Sophomore forward Anthony Marra caused a neutral zone turnover and put a shot on net that was saved by Cardinal goalie Brady Rouleau. However, Keenan was in place to score on a short rebound for his team-leading 23rd goal of the season.

The Cardinals started their decisive run with 13:24 on the third period clock after Kyle Hall tipped a shot from the left wing boards past Knights' senior goalie Matt Leon for a power-play tally. The score remained tied until a two-goal flurry in a 39-second span by the home team put the game out of reach with 4:30 left in regulation. Plattsburgh tacked on an empty net goal with 1:03 remaining to move on to the SUNYAC Championship game at top-seeded Oswego (which defeated Buffalo State, 6-2, in the night's other semifinal) next Saturday.

Leon finished the game with a season-high 31 saves as Plattsburgh finished the game with a 36-20 advantage in shots.
