BUFFALO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo first-year Conlan Keenan notched his 11th goal of the season but it was host Buffalo State taking down the No. 4/5 Knights, 4-1, Saturday in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's ice hockey play.

Buffalo State (8-2-1, 4-1-1 SUNYAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period with a power-play tally with 12:06 on the clock and then added a second tally with 4:39 remaining.

In the second, it was Keenan tipping a pass from first-year forward David Szmyd into the net from close range for the only tally of the period, cutting the Bengals' lead to 2-1.

However, Buffalo State scored a pair of goals in a 50-second stretch to build a 4-1 lead with 8:04 remaining in regulation to put the game out of reach and snap the Knights' six-game unbeaten streak.

The Knights (7-2-1, 3-2 SUNYAC) will return to action next week with a pair of road games on Friday (Dec. 9) at Plattsburgh and Saturday (Dec. 10) at Potsdam. Both games are slated for 7:00 p.m. face-offs.
