Men’s Basketball Closes Regular Season with Loss at Oswego, 65-58

OSWEGO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior guard Kevin Crockett and sophomore forward Tommy Eastman each netted 13 points as the Knights closed their regular season with a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) loss at Oswego, 65-58. 


Geneseo (14-11, 11-7 SUNYAC) began the game in a 17-2 hole, converting just one field goal in the first 6:27. 

The Knights cut the lead to single-digits before halftime as Crockett buried a three-pointer to make it an eight-point game with 3:31 to go. Geneseo went into halftime trailing, 32-24.

In the second half, Oswego extended their lead to 10 points but the Knights used a 15-3 run to take on 53-52 lead with 3:46 to play. 

Oswego responded with a 13-5 run to finish the game and close out the visiting Knights. 


Eastman finished with his SUNYAC-leading 12th double-double, grabbing 13 rebounds to go with his 13 points while sophomore forward Sean Crowley added 11 points.

Junior guard Quinn Carey has hit at least one three-pointer in all but two games this season, converting a SUNYAC-best 88 three-point field goals this season. 

Geneseo will compete in the SUNYAC Tournament for the sixth-straight season, and will host a playoff game for the first time since 2014.


The Knights earned the fourth seed in the SUNYAC Tournament and will host No. 5 Oswego in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday, Feb. 20, with tip-off scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
