Men's Basketball Powers Past Brockport, 86-66

GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior guard John Decker totaled a game-high 23 points along with five assists, while junior guard Kevin Crockett added 22 points, including 6-of-9 three-pointers, to lead the Knights to an 86-66 victory over Brockport in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) men's basketball action, Saturday.

Tied, 22-22, with 8:21 on the first-half clock, the Knights scored 13-unanswered points, including seven-straight by Decker, to start a 17-2 run that yielded a 39-24 edge with 3:17 remaining in the half. 

Trailing, 44-32, at halftime, Brockport (8-3, 4-1 SUNYAC) battled back to pull within seven, 59-52, with 10:35 left in regulation, but the Knights responded with a 9-0 run to reclaim a 68-52 edge with 6:49 to play. 

Geneseo's lead would grow to as many as 21 down the stretch to hand the Golden Eagles their first conference loss of the season. The Knights connected on 19-of-20 free throw attempts while shooting a tidy 48.3 percent (25-of-58) from the field, including 11-of-24 shots from three-point range.

Geneseo hits the road on Tuesday to take on Fredonia in SUNYAC play set to tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
