Men's Basketball Defeats Potsdam, 88-78

GENESEO N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior guard John Decker tallied 29 points and six assists to help the Knights defeat Potsdam (1-7, 0-5 SUNYAC), 88-78, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) play, Saturday.

Geneseo (6-3, 3-1 SUNYAC) led for the entire game. They opened the game with a three pointer by senior guard Justin Ringen, and never looked back. The largest lead of the first half was 11 points, and the Knights went into halftime leading the Bears.

The second half was closely contested until the 5:12 mark when Decker hit a pair of free throws to put Geneseo ahead by 11 points. After this, the Knights led by double digits for the remainder of the game, extending the lead to 15 points late in the game.

The Knights return to action Thursday (Dec. 29) when they travel to Ohio to face Centre in the Bill Sudeck Holiday Tournament.
