GENESEO N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior guard Justin Ringen tallied 21 points and six assists as the Knights defeated Plattsburgh, 86-71, in State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) action, Friday.
After falling behind early, Geneseo went on an 8-0 run to take an 18-11 lead 11:28 into the first half. The teams traded the lead for the remainder of the half until the Cardinals pulled away for a 36-33 lead at intermission
Geneseo trailed until the 16:18 mark of the second half, when senior guard Jack Eisenberg hit a three-pointer that gave the Knights a 44-43 lead it would not relinquish. An 8-0 Geneseo run extended the lead to 14, 84-70, with less than a minute remaining in the contest.
The Knights return to action Saturday (Dec. 10) at Potsdam with the game slotted to start at 2:00 p.m.
