GENESEO, N.Y. – SUNY Geneseo senior back Morgan Maley was named to the 2017 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFCA) All-North Atlantic Region Team, announced Wednesday.
Maley landed her third-consecutive all-region honor and second-straight first-team certificate after being named a second-teamer as a sophomore. She also became only the second player in program history to be named a four-time State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) First-Team All-Star earlier this month.
Starting all 79 of Geneseo's matches during her career in Blue and White, Maley tied for 10th on the Knights' career-scoring list with 55 points after a final campaign that included a 15th-place finish in the SUNYAC with 17 points and a tie for 14th place with eight goals.
Maley saw the Knights make four-straight SUNYAC Tournament appearances, including a 2016 season that culminated with the squad's first conference title in six years as well as an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Geneseo finished the 2017 season with a 10-8 record for its eighth double-digit win total in 10 seasons under head coach Jess Seren. Qualifying for their eighth-consecutive appearance in the SUNYAC Tournament, the fourth-seeded Knights fell at top-seeded and eventual champion Cortland, 3-0, in the SUNYAC Tournament Semifinals.
