Field Hockey Comes Up Short To No. 11 Skidmore

GENESEO, N.Y. – The SUNY Geneseo field hockey team fell to No. 11 Skidmore, 4-0, on Saturday afternoon at College Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Skidmore opened the scoring in the seventh minute as Seeley Fancher received a pass from Miranda Davenport and finished it.

  • Geneseo's best scoring opportunity came when senior forward Giovanna Fasanello took a shot that rebounded to junior defender Tess Necaise, who beat the goalie but was turned away by a defender.

  • Sarah Winters scored a goal with 15:55 remaining in the second half to give the Thoroughbreds a 2-0 lead.

  • Skidmore defender Mary Beth Zahnleuter netted a goal after receiving a pass from Marisa Folts at the top of the circle on a penalty corner.

  • Skidmore closed scoring with another tally with under a minute left in regulation.
