Field Hockey Shuts Out Utica, 1-0, For Seren's 100th Victory

UTICA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junio forward Cara Stafford scored the lone goal of the match to lead the Knights to the 1-0 victory at Utica, Thursday.

The win extended Geneseo's current winning-streak to seven while also accounting for the 100th victory for head coach Jess Seren.

Stafford, who also scored a hat-trick in Tuesday's 4-1 win at Houghton, got open for a shot that scored off the left post in the 20th minute of play for what proved to be the deciding tally.

Junior goalie Nicole Gregg stopped all four Pioneer (4-12) shots she faced to post her fourth shutout of the season. The Knights have only allowed three goals during their current winning streak.

Geneseo returns to action next Wednesday (Oct. 26) to take on host Keuka in a 4:00 p.m. match.
