Geneseo Equestrian Rides at Cazenovia & St. Lawrence

CAZENOVIA, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo senior Rachel Powers, juniors Sydney Hollasch and Alishah Bhimani, sophomore Sarea Shariff and first-year Jordan Testa each earned first place finishes as the Knights rode to sixth place at Cazenovia on Saturday. 

Powers took first in the Beginning Walk Trot Canter, edging teammate senior Natalie Craig, while Hollasch snagged first in the novice fences. Bhimani earned a top finish in the intermediate flat and Shariff earned a first-place finish in the walk trot while Testa placed first in the novice flat.

The Knights finished with a team score of 29 points, topping seventh-place St. Lawrence and finishing just behind fifth-place host Cazenovia. Guelph took first while Canisius finished second and Syracuse took third.

CANTON, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo junior Sydney Hollasch earned a first-place finish in the Novice Flat to highlight the Knights' show at St. Lawrence on Sunday. 

First-year Jordan Testa added a second-place finish in the novice flat, while first-year Cheyenne Otto placed second in the novice fences. First-year Felicia Ponikau took second in the advanced walk trot canter while senior Chelsea Sullivan earned a second-place finish in the beginning walk trot canter. 

The Knights earned a fourth-place team finish out of 10 squads, earning 28 points. Cazenovia edged host St. Lawrence for first place, while Syracuse took third. Geneseo will prepare for IHSA Regionals, hosted by St. Lawrence, on Saturday, March 31.
