GENESEO, N.Y. - Four SUNY Geneseo student-athletes were named State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Athlete of the Week, announced on Monday. Women's track & field juniors Shayna Held and Elise Ramirez earned weekly honors while men's swimming & diving senior Samuel Randall and women's swimming & diving sophomore Samantha Reichman were each named Diver of the Week.
Held broke her own program record in winning the pentathlon at the Ithaca Winter Invitational, Sunday. Her score of 3,301 currently ranks seventh in Division III.
Ramirez won the elite section of the 5,000 at the Tufts Cupid Challenge, Saturday. Her time of 17:18.62 is currently the 12th-fastest time in Division III.
Randall led the Knights to a first-place finish in the Geneseo Invitational on Saturday. He took down both diving events, placing first in the one-meter with a 536.40 and in the three-meter, scoring 556.05.
Reichman helped the Knights to a first-place finish in the Geneseo Invitational. She took first in both diving events, scoring 465.30 in the one-meter and 482.03 in the three-meter.
