GENESEO, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo men's soccer junior Greg Baumstein and women's soccer sophomore Taylor Clar were each recognized as College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District selections, announced on Thursday afternoon.

The duo moves on to the national ballot where they will be considered for Academic All-America status. Only five Geneseo student-athletes have received Academic All-American distinction, most recently with Brad Campion '17 receiving the honor last fall.

Baumstein is a biology major with a 3.90 grade point average. Named a team captain this season, he netted two goals and contributed to six shutouts, starting on the back line in all 19 contests for the Knights.

Clar is an accounting major with a 3.97 grade point average. Named a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) First Team selection for the second year, Clar led the Knights' defense to 11 shutouts. Clar also tallied a goal in the SUNYAC Championship, helping the Knights to a 4-0 victory over Plattsburgh. In addition to her 2016 All-SUNYAC First Team selection, Clar was named to the NSCAA All-East Region First Team last season as well.
