GENESEO, N.Y. - For the second time in as many weeks, both women's soccer senior forward Audrey Reid and women's volleyball sophomore outside hitter Grace Cergol were selected by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as weekly award winners.
Reid was named SUNYAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after she extended her multi-goal scoring streak to four straight, scoring two in both games this week. Reid scored two goals against Alfred, including another direct kick from 25 yards out. She followed that effort with two more goals against Brockport on Saturday. Reid has now scored 14 goals on the season, the most by a Knight since 2014. She has recorded at least one goal in each of her last six games, tying the second-longest streak in Geneseo women's soccer history. Reid's award marked her second consecutive athlete of the week honor.
Cergol led the Knights to three victories, including two crucial conference wins, in four matches, with 69 kills, 4.6 kills per set, 50 digs, and 73.5 points. She totaled 16 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 win over Cortland on Friday and also had 16 kills and 21 digs in a 3-1 win over Buffalo State on Saturday. In the Knights' 3-2 setback to Brockport, Cergol compiled 30 kills, which tied for the fourth-highest total in a five-set match in Division III this season, and also added 14 digs in a battle of the top-two teams in the league. Cergol's weekly honor marked the third time the sophomore had garnered the award in the past four weeks.
