GENESEO, N.Y. - Four SUNY Geneseo student-athletes were honored with weekly honors from the State University of New York Athletic Conference.
John Decker (Senior) - Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Decker averaged 27.7 points while shooting better than 45 percent (56.7% from 3-point range) in a three-game week for the Knights that included a pair of SUNYAC road wins. He started by tying a 10-year old school record by hitting nine three-pointers en route to 38 points in an 82-80 setback at No. 11 Rochester on Tuesday. He then followed up a 16-point effort in a 86-71 victory at Plattsburgh on Friday with a 29-point, six-assist showing in a 88-78 win at Potsdam on Saturday.
Camille Wutz (Junior) - Track & Field Female Field Athlete of the Week
Wutz won three events to lead the Knights at the Houghton December Classic on Friday. She set a facility record in winning the long jump (18-1.75/5.53m) with a leap that currently ranks third in the nation. She also won the 60-meter dash (7.99) before adding a leg to the wining 4x200 relay (1:51.40) that established a new Geneseo program record.
Gillan Faulkner (Sophomore) Track & Field Male Track Athlete of the Week
Faulkner bested the field in the 600-meter run with a Geneseo program record 1:22.92 clocking as the Knights kicked off the indoor season at the Houghton December Classic on Friday. He also added a leg to the winning 4x400-meter relay (3:29.56).
Conlan Keenan (First-Year) - Men's Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week
Keenan notched his Division III-leading seventh power-play goal of the season to go along with an assist in Geneseo's 5-4 victory at Plattsburgh on Friday, before tipping home the game-winning goal with less than two minutes left in regulation after also tallying an assist in Saturday's 3-2 win at Potsdam.
