SUNYAC Honors 178 Geneseo Student-Athletes

SUNYAC Spring 2016 All-Academic Team and Commissioner's List (.PDF)

GENESEO, N.Y. – A conference-best 178 SUNY Geneseo student-athletes were recognized for their academic accomplishments by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with the release of the All-Academic Team and the Commissioner's List for the 2016 spring semester.

Geneseo led the way with 175 All-Academic Team selections as well as 97 Commissioner's List honorees. Additionally, 77 Knights earned recognition on both lists, which was also the highest total in the league. 

The women's track & field team led all the Knights' winter and spring sports with 35 total honorees, while men's track & field was second with 31. The women's lacrosse and equestrian teams were next with 17 members, while bot the men's swimming & diving and women's swimming & diving teams checked in with 15 honorees apiece. 

To be eligible for the SUNYAC All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must have been a member of a varsity sport for the entire season and have compiled a grade point average of 3.3 or higher in the spring semester. A cumulative 3.3 GPA or over at least three semesters enrolled at the member institution was necessary to be named to the Commissioner's List.
