GENESEO, N.Y. - Four SUNY Geneseo student-athletes were honored by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) with Player of the Week honors for their respective performances last week.
Senior Cat Krok was named the SUNYAC Softball Player of the week after going 12-for-22 (.545) with eight runs, five doubles, one triple and 10 RBI in Geneseo's 7-1 week, which included late-inning come-from-behind wins over RIT and Oneonta. She had 19 total bases for a .864 slugging percentage. In her seven starts, she had five multi-hit games and six contests with at least one RBI, including three in a game two, 10-3 win over New Paltz on Saturday, April 23.
Three members of the track & field program were honored for their performances at the Larry Ellis Invitational, hosted by Princeton, on Friday and Saturday in a field comprised of club, Division I, II and III competition.
Senior Jacqueline Huben was named the SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Female Track Athlete of the Week. She posted the seventh-fastest steeplechase time (10:51.05) in the nation, crossing the line as the top Division III finisher (18th overall) in a field comprised of club, Division I, II and III competition.
Junior Alexa Wandy was tabbed the SUNYAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Female Field Athlete of the Week. She posted the fifth-longest triple jump in the nation, finishing ninth in the field with a leap of 38 feet, 11.5 inches (11.87m).
Sophomore Isaac Garcia-Cassani was tabbed the SUNYAC Men's Outdoor Track & Field Male Track Athlete of the Week. He posted the 13th-fastest 5,000 time in the nation, finishing seventh in the race with a time of 14:23.92 which was also the third-fastest time in Geneseo program history.
